Who owns IELTS?
The IELTS Test is accepted by most English speaking nations as a good standard for assessing an individual’s general English language skills. IELTS test results are used by organisations and universities in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA and Great Britain to ensure that students, employees and immigrants have the basic English language skills required to fit into society and be productive through their work or studies.
IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. As internationally focused organisations, they are committed to academic excellence and cultural understanding essentially they are the ideal providers of international English testing.
