Sheila Prasad – Ready to dump a government job to go abroad!
Her husband had called in to make an appointment. He walked in on the appointed date with his wife and her sister. The sisters wanted to migrate to Canada on a job.
Sheila had done her B Tech in Civil Engineering and had joined a company. She later got a government job in the Water works department and she moved into that job. She was taking a break from that and was now thinking of going abroad. How times have changed. People would give their right arm for a government job at one time but now they did not hesitate to give up government jobs for better opportunities.
Sheila was more comfortable talking and she had also attempted IELTS once before. She had got an overall band of 6 and that was not enough for her to go abroad. She needed a score of 8-7-7-7 in the Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking tests. That is the benchmark score for all those wanting to migrate to Canada. She would need a lot of help in all the areas of the test with an extra focus on the writing skill where she had scored the lowest. Since currently, she was not working, she was willing to devote more time to the IELTS and her husband assured me that she would not take IELTS until she did well in the Training course. Wish more people were as sensible and take the IELTS exam after good preparation.
